Dorothea Rogers, D.Min., LMFT, CFLE

Becoming an LMFT was my heart’s desire. Being a Certified Family Life Educator for many years, I had a foundational understanding of life stage development/life transitions. I wanted to help individuals and families develop workable communication skills and understand and navigate life transitions, so they could experience their full potential.

I want to help students prepare for their exam. I taught Foundations of Marriage and Family Therapy for four years—pioneers, theoretical viewpoints, and core competencies in practicing family therapy. I am a professor; I love teaching about families and helping students gain an understanding about their chosen model.

My desire for new professionals is that they will be genuine reflective listeners and disseminators of information, hope, encouragement, and possibilities, as their clients gain understanding of their strengths. Also, that new professionals will use self-care interventions for themselves.

“The primary ingredient for progress is optimism. The unwavering belief that something can be better is what drives us forward.” – Simon Sinek
