Heather Katafiasz, Ph.D., IMFT-S
I wanted to help people initially, but I didn't really understand what that meant. As I grew as a person and a therapist, I realized that being a systemic thinker was part of who I was. I love helping people connect to others, learn to accept and embrace their own emotions, and overcome trauma or other obstacles in life.
I love teaching and supervision. I enjoy helping supervisees understand how to embrace their own identities as a therapeutic tool. I also enjoy helping supervisees learn about theory and then find their own ways of creating change in therapy.
I hope they can learn to be the most effective therapists they can be and love the therapeutic process.
