John Hill, D.Min., LMFT

John Hill, D.Min., LMFT

After working for years in a related field, I found my interest and energy drawn to the counseling aspect of my work. I have always wanted to help people make the best choices for their lives. I feel I am gifted in listening and guiding people to do so. It is humbling and rewarding to see them making positive changes for themselves.

Why do you supervise? After thirty plus years in this field, I believe I have experience that may be valuable for therapists in training. This is my way of giving back to my profession, as well as keeping my own skills sharp. I enjoy my interaction with my supervisees, and learn from them as they learn from me.

What do you hope for new professionals? My hope for new professionals is that they find this field as rewarding and stimulating as I have. I hope they will make even more of an impact on society’s response to its many relational problems than we have been able to do so far.
