Kathryn Klock-Powell, Ph.D., LMFT, RPT-S

I’ve always wanted to make a difference in the world. When I can help a family recognize the patterns of interaction that are preventing them from living the lives they want or help a child who has been abused to heal, I feel like I am making a difference.

I supervise Counselors, MFTs, and Play Therapists, and I love it. I enjoy the collegial nature of supervision, of providing alternative viewpoints, and of helping new professionals gain the confidence to challenge themselves and their clients in new ways.

I want the professionals I work with to experience that “in-the-flow” sensation of connecting to a human being in a moment of pain and to really be present for another person (think Patch Adams). Sometimes we have to get out of our own heads to do that.

WORDS I LIVE BY:

“Are your clients math problems or sunsets? Are they problems to be solved or are they sunsets to be appreciated?” - Mindfulness and the Therapeutic Relationship
