Kathleen Kohlhaas, LPC

Kathleen Kohlhaas, LPC

I changed my career direction in my late 30s after traumatic life experiences over ten years had me taking advantage of a number of mental health services. I wanted to help others to recover and even grow through these times. I knew, through my personal journey, how this is possible and felt I could inspire hope and healing in others.

I love supervising. I enjoy watching and helping new clinicians grow in the field and discover their strengths. At the same time, I keep my own skills fresh and sharp by coaching them in others. I feel strongly about the therapeutic relationship as an essential aspect of the process and desire to keep this paramount in the minds of the next generation of therapists.

I hope new professionals continue to learn new research and topics in the field, stay mindful of the importance of the therapeutic relationship, and remain involved in supervision as a career-long endeavor.

WORDS I LIVE BY:
Clients do not need a new idea; they need a new experience.
