Nicole Mateo, LPC, LMHC
I am a therapist because we live in a world with challenges, struggles, and limited resources to build us up. If I think of the darkest moments in my life and those around me, I know how powerful it can be to have someone there supporting and encouraging you without judgement. As a therapist, I wanted to walk alongside of the ones most in need of support and empathy.
Due to the location I was at when I was completing my supervision, I did not have the best supervision experience. After I became licensed, I still felt inadequate. I was blessed to have amazing supervisors in the various agencies I worked at after licensure. I enjoy sharing my positive and negative experiences with others in hopes that my experience helps other clinicians.
I hope new clinicians build a strong foundation for supporting their clients, develop their intuitions, and value themselves and the importance of self-care.
