Rebecca Smith, LPC, CPCS

I chose to become a counselor because I really enjoyed learning about people, their behaviors, and the way the mind works. When I entered my master's program in counseling, I knew it was the right fit. I love seeing clients grow and heal when they are motivated to change.

I had a great supervisor when I first started out. It helped me better understand how to build healthy relationships with my clients and set good boundaries. I also learned how to take care of myself. I want to provide that same experience for someone else.

I want new professionals to focus on why they do this work. When you have a why, the rest starts to fall into place. I also want to encourage clinicians to never stop learning and always be open to feedback. We are all here to help each other.
